Breaking: Coastal advisories are in effect from the National Weather Service. The first involves a high rip current risk for swimmers along the New England coast due to hurricane Erin. A rip current risk and high surf will be in effect all day Thursday. And a high surf advisory is in effect From 6 AM Friday to 8 PM Saturday. The forecast is for 6 to 10 feet waves during the advisory. The National weather service says that impacts involve dangerous swimming and surfing conditions as well as localized beach erosion. Riptides can drive even the most experienced swimmers away from shore. Inexperienced swimmers should stay away from the water. The hurricane has reportedly made landfall on the North Carolina coast.
