UPDATE BANK ROBBERY

Media Release: Bank Robbery at Bank of America, 848 Islington Street

On Saturday September 23rd, 2023, at approximately 10:17 A.M. the Portsmouth Police Department took a 911 call for an Armed Robbery at the Bank of America at 848 Islington Street.  According to initial reports the suspect did not display a weapon but stated he had one.  Patrol and Detectives responded to the scene along with a Portsmouth Police K-9.  

The area was searched but the suspect was not found.  With the help of Portsmouth Police K-9 Crash, Officers were able to locate and ultimately collect evidence left behind by the suspect.  

The suspect got away with cash, an amount that we are not releasing at this time.  The white male suspect was wearing a black winter hat, sunglasses, and had a black face covering, approximate height 5’8 to 5’10.  Please see attached photos.  The suspect fled across the street toward the railroad tracks.  

The Portsmouth Police Departments Detectives and Crime Scene Team fully processed the bank and spoke with witnesses. Due to this being an active investigation we are not releasing the type of evidence located at the scene nor are we disclosing the amount of money stolen.  We would like to thank the New Hampshire State Police and the F.B.I. for their assistance with this investigation.

Breaking: Bank robbery in Portsmouth NH

Crime scene tape surrounds a Bank of America branch in Portsmouth. That follows a bank robbery earlier today on the city’s west side on Islington Street. Police have not yet released further details of the robbery.

 Bedford New Hampshire high school administrators are working to get to the bottom of a photo sharing issue.

On Sunday, Governor Chris Sununu will travel to Quebec City to participate in the 44th Eastern Canadian Premiers and New England Governors’ Conference.

There has been a rash of school accidents involving Maine school buses so far in 2023.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating incidents of green laser shootings near Logan airport in Boston.

Coming up next, a New Hampshire town will see a new electric vehicle charging station built at a food co-op. Conversation on the The Interview continues with Michael Faber who runs the co-op.
