Peace or no peace? War or no war? Questions that have not been answered in the conflict between the US and Iran. On the one hand, President Trump has offered a 15 point plan to end hostilities if that country ends it’s nuclear war ambitions. On the other hand, the Pentagon is sending 2000 troops to the Middle East. they are soldiers from the 82nd airborne, who could hit the ground to conduct operations in support of the US lead epic fury against Iran.
New Hampshire US Senator Maggie Hassan had nothing good to say about President Trump‘s save America initiative. She spoke on the Senate floor about it, and you can view her remarks below or by clicking here.
Senate majority leader, John Thume has suggested that Republicans could drop the controversial voting Bill and take it up again after the Department of Homeland Security is funded.
If prison expansions denote more crime, New Hampshire must be rife with it. Anyway, the state is expected to spend by bond $600 million within the next few years to improve and expand the men’s prison in Concord. It’s situated in front of the women’s lock up. Right now, the state is contracting with a firm from Nebraska to design improvements intended for the 400 acre prison campus. It would hold 1500 prisoners when complete in the next few years.
Convicted New Hampshire murderer Pamela Smart continues her drive to get out of prison. her defense attorneys are arguing that the jury was faced with a predetermined and biased interpretation through transcripts supplied at her trial by prosecutors. But the state is saying that. most of her claims about an unfair trial or proceeding are already resolved.
When a police officer calls someone a whack job, it speaks to someone’s mental state. In the case of Karen Read in Massachusetts, a police officer are now fired called her that and other unsavory personal things. The term has come up again in the Massachusetts trial of Kelsey Fitzsimmons. She’s accused of assault of a fellow officer in the case when she was the one wounded in the incident. In the trail yesterday in Essex, Superior Court, her attorney cross-examined the cop who used that characterization of her.
If you’re stuck in long lines at the airport, don’t blame the TSA security workers. They’re not being paid right now by the federal government. So, many of them are walking out or calling in sick during the. partial Department of Homeland Security shut down. that’s been going on since February 14, so it’s been a month since paychecks were issued to the workers. and DHS says that 458 of them have quit. A union official in Boston says many have taken on new jobs, including driving for Uber.
