Breaking: A best selling New Hampshire author has drawn a 3 and a half to 7 year prison term after pleading guilty to child image possession charges.  65 year old Brendan Dubois must also register as a sex offender when released. A longer sentence has been suspended and he will be evaluated for possible prison counseling after his appearance at  Rockingham County Superior Court. After his arrest this past July, Dubois was accused of possessing at least 35 images of children engaging in sexually explicit conduct.  His publisher has suspended promotion and sale of 26 novels that he authored. 

She served as New Hampshire Governor and US Senator, but Democratic Senator Jeanne Shaheen won’t run again. You can view a video of her announcement below or here.

So far, under White House orders, six civilian workers at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard have been laid off.

Both New Hampshire US senators, Shaheen and Hassan have reacted against the federal plan to close a Social Security office in Littleton.

In a tit for tat, Maine’s university system has had federal funds paused for all programs at the University of Maine.

On the positive side, the province of Ontario has reversed a decision to impose a tariff on US electricity imports.
