EXCLUSIVE UPDATE

A Philadelphia based attorney is representing 82 people, police officers, who blame New Hampshire based Sig Sauer for allegedly producing and selling their most popular pistol the P320 without a trigger tab for safety. They contend that the pistol fires spontaneously,   even when left on a surface. Some police officers say the pistol has fired while in their holsters. Robert Zimmerman represents 82 officers who were either injured or affected by near misses. He has already filed 52 cases according to an article in the New York Post. He says that 40 of them are in New Hampshire.  Other attorneys are representing more alleged victims, totaling 150. One detective in Somerville Massachusetts, Ashley Catatao told the New York Post  that the pistol shot went through her trousers and into her thigh.  She said she still carries the semi automatic pistol but not with a bullet inside. The officers say that the pistol should be equipped with a tab trigger, but it is not.  Others were injured, but there have been no deaths.  One law enforcement source  called the pistol a “ticking time bomb.”

Zimmerman says the pistol should be recalled and re-designed.

In an earlier article posted by a different source, in a written response to questions, SIG Sauer, based in Newington, New Hampshire, denied that the P320 was capable of firing without a trigger pull.
