Today is the eve of the Maine primary election, held to sort out who will face who in the November election. Maine governor Janet Mills is on the Democratic ballot for US Senate, but she has not been campaigning. Graham Platner has, and despite his recent controversy over his personal life, has enjoyed overwhelming support by his party to take on five term Republican US Senator Susan Collins.
Baxter is not running for office. because he has been given his own seat aboard the ferry to the islands in Casco Bay. Baxter has his own perch, and has been making the rounds for some four years now.
Bus travelers with late night departures concerns will shortly have a late night service from Boston to Portsmouth, New Hampshire. It will be run with other services out of Pease Guard by C&J bus lines and the result, starting in June 25 will be late night service from Boston at 11:30 PM.
The apparent never-ending saga of the Karen Read murder case in Massachusetts continues. She was found innocent of the 2022 death of her boyfriend John O’Keefe. She is suing those who testified against her in Norfolk County Superior Court. She says she’d been framed by Police in a scheme to pass the blame onto her. Those sued include fired Massachusetts state trooper Michael Proctor. Now, he is supposed to face a deposition in the case in civil court against her sought by O’Keefe’s family. But he says he needs a postponement due to conflicting scheduling.
President Trump maintains that he calls the shots when it comes to peace. So he has called for both Iran and Israel to lay down their arm.s That’s after more strikess between the two. While Trump says that he never promised an end to war, he did say that Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu will have no choice.
