Weather forecasters are saying that Wednesdays snowstorm has kept plow drivers busy, and many schools delayed or closed. from The Weather Channel, highs could reach 40° in some places today, and the warmer temperatures should reach Saturday at least with some sun.
New England’s most recent snow Tuesday night into Wednesday has left several new inches on the ground and resulted in cancellations of schools. Icy cold weather this winter has frozen over many lakes and even urban rivers like the Charles in Boston. While it’s a lure for skating, ice fishing or walking across, public officials say don’t do it.
Maine US Senator Susan Collins has made another run for office official. She’ll be going for her sixth term as a Republican. In a statement, she said, I’m running because experience and Independence matter for Maine. In the Bangor Daily News she wrote.
“Maine needs experienced, steady leadership and a senator committed to the hard work it takes to get things done.”
Six democratic legislators, all military veterans are off the hook after they were not indicted for their role in a video urging current service members to resist what they call illegal orders. New England lawmaker Maggie Goodlander of New Hampshire is one of them.
“Today an American grand jury honored our Constitution by standing up to an outrageous abuse of presidential power and taxpayer dollars,” Goodlander wrote. “No matter the threats, I will keep doing my job and upholding my oath to our Constitution.”
