NOW: Crossing Into UkraineToday’s the day! We’re now well into our more than 10-hour drive into Ukraine. Our volunteers (seen below) have filled 17 vans with more than 35,000 pounds of food and critical supplies for our third annual Christmas Convoy to help Ukraine’s children of war.  The past two days that our Common Man for Ukraine team has been overseas, we’ve been visiting with the 34 children at the December session of our monthly trauma counseling retreat in beautiful Zakopane, Poland.With Ukrainian Pres. Zelenskyy’s announcement that 43,000 soldiers have been killed since Russia’s 2022 all-out invasion, we feel all the more invigorated to do more good – and continue the mental health work we’ve started at the retreat. The smiles on the faces of the Ukrainian children attending this month’s session, and the 900+ who attended before them, remind us that there is so much more work to be done. |
